Bottega Louie: A Diamond in the rough

I'm not going to lie, downtown Los Angeles is not my favourite place in the world. Over all it's smelly, dirty and actually a wee bit dangerous. But ask any LA native about the best place to satisfy your sweet tooth and the answer will be unanimous - downtown Los Angeles may be a bit shabby, but downtown's Bottega Louie is most definitely a diamond in the rough. 

Bottega Louie is an LA institution, famous for their mouth-watering selection of french inspired desserts and sweet treats. Along with sweeties, Bottega Louie also boasts an impressive menu that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. I think that it's safe to say that if you like food, you will love Bottega Louie. 

For me, one of the best things about Bottega Louie it's ability to be one of the classiest wee getups in downtown LA, all while still being very affordable. A beautiful gourmet dinner with a cocktail for under $30? Yes please. 

In true LA style, patrons of Bottega Louie are often escorted by a furry friend of the doggy variety - in an unusual twist on food-hygeine laws, may I add. If not for the food, this place is worth a visit solely for the dog show! No joke, the dogs that come to Bottega Louie are some of the most pampered pooches you will ever see. 

Next time you're in that neck of the woods, pop into Bottega Louie and check out what all the fuss is about. Give it a chance, and I can guarantee you that this gem will show you it's sparkly side.
